EAN Photo Contest Guidelines for ESCAIDE 2026

Purpose and content

The purpose of the EAN photo contest is to provide the participants of the ESCAIDE conference with a different perspective on the work of field epidemiologists and public health microbiologists. We are therefore pleased to receive photographs that represent any of the many aspects (people, landscapes, cultures, and everyday work) of field epidemiology and public health microbiology in an artistic way.

We ask participants to share photographs that capture the diversity of field epidemiology and public health microbiology in community, clinical, laboratory, or policy settings.

We’re looking for images that tell authentic stories of public health in a fair, inclusive, and respectful way, giving voice to local actors and diverse experiences. Photos that highlight local leadership, challenge stereotypes, or reflect on power dynamics in public health practice are especially welcome.
